It's been a couple of weeks or so because the Nexus 7 has received the Android 4.4 update Kitkat , and most owners were happy to see what had changed. The reason for the excitement was due to the fact that Google had promised performance improvements , bug fixes and other improvements.
However, the Nexus 7 Android 4.4 vs 4.3 performance since then has been questioned because, while most of what I said is true , there is a question that has had the experience of a lot ' worse.
A recent study by OptaFidelity found a problem with Android 4.4 Jelly Bean KitKat compared to 4.3 while running on the Nexus 7. Looks like the video playback on the Nexus 7 , 2012 and 2013 was affected and can be seen in detail in this PDF .
The Android 4.4 vs 4.3 Textual noted playback 720p video at 30 fps and 60 fps. 1080p video have also been tested at those prices . The results were quite shocking because it showed that the older , less powerful Nexus 7 running Jelly Bean has overcome to 2013 Nexus 7 installed with KitKat
However, we also tested the original Nexus 7 Android 4.4 KitKat installed, and also was a decrease in video performance .
